Attention NTCR Community
We are temporarily closing intake for NON-NTCR cats. Our resources and space are limited. If your cat is not from NTCR, you can contact the shelter or rescue where you adopted them or explore other rehoming options.

For Those Surrendering NTCR Cats
Please do not abandon them or take to other shelters.
If you adopted your cat from NTCR and need to surrender them, please schedule an appointment with us (See link under the Adoption column). We may have a waiting list for openings in our foster homes, so your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

My name is Major Tom and, yes, I was named after the David Bowie song!  My foster mom thought I was a boy (hee, hee!!) but I fooled her!!  Still, she likes the name but calls me Tomi.   I am a beautiful, silky, petite tabby with a slightly longer over coat.  When I was a small kitten I had a very bad eye infection that left me with a watery eye but this does not detract from my beauty.  I don't let this stop me though.  I am very independent and do not like to be picked up a lot, but love to run around and play and sleep under the covers at night.  I am perfectly happy to be by myself and always find a way to keep myself occupied, or, I would love to play with a friend who has nice play manners.  Afterward I like to lay down by a human and sleep, especially on the couch (I love to lay on feet and legs!).  I have a very good appetite and eat all of the food in my bowl.  Foster mom always tells me how proud she is of my litter box skills.  My potential new family will need to make sure that I have plenty of scratching posts to scratch on as I really like to do that as well.  If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application online at northtexascatrescue.com and we can arrange a meeting!
