Diva is a special lady.  She came to us from a hard situation. Her fur was matted and dirty, she had ear mites, fleas and a bad upper respiratory infection.  We didn't know much about her, but getting her healthy was our top priority.

As she started feeling better, we noticed she walked a little different, almost with a prance and was very cautious.  She didn't jump, was a bit wobbly on her feet and would bump into things. She also didn't move near as quickly as most cats move.

Once she was over her illness we had her checked out again by the vet.  We found out that Diva is 8 - 10 years old and may only have 10 % of her vision. She also has some arthritis in her back/hind area.  It was actually really good news to hear since, it is nothing serious.

With Diva's vision problem and arthritis she doesn't jump much.  She can climb some, but if you keep her claws trimmed this will limit her.  She will have to be picked up to snuggle with you on the couch or bed.

She is a sweet lady.  She is fairly quiet and spends most of her time sleeping in her favorite warm spot.  She is very curious, and she follows any activity going on in the house.  Fast movements startle her, but she is quick to recover.  She loves to be picked up and have her ears and chinned scratched but she isn't always a lap kitty.  She will let you know when she's ready to get down.

It may take a little time for her to get used to her forever home.  To help ease confusion it is important that things not be moved much.  She will need a place she can feel comfortable to sleep, and her food, water and litter box will need to be in an easily accessible area.

She will do best in a home with older or no children.  She is in a home with other cats and a dog and gets along ok with them, but may be best as an only pet.

She is great at using her scratching post and litter box.
