Meet Hershey! He's the coolest cat around! He's a big fellow who's pretty mellow :) He is super sweet and affectionate, as well as handsome. He is great with cats and dogs, but because he gets over stimulated when being pet, and likes to love bite, he would probably be best in a home that does not have young children. If he's being petted and it stops before he's ready, he grabs your hand with his paw and pulls it back for the petting to continue.

Hershey has an old injury to his right rear foot so it turns in a bit when he walks. There's nothing to be done about it. It doesn't bother him or hinder his ability to jump. It does make him a bit less graceful sometimes, but he doesn't seem to care as long as he's got someone to love on him...all is right with the world.

Hershey is FIV positive, but don't let that deter you from adopting him. FIV is NOT easily transmitted to other cats and it is NOT a death sentence. FIV positive cats can live very long lives - commensurate with typical non-FIV cat lifespans (15-20+ years!). Hershey shares his foster home with many other felines and gets along well with everyone so it's highly unlikely that he would pass it to another cat (e.g. he doesn't bite or attack the other cats in the home, which is how it would be transmitted.)

He has excellent litter box and scratching post manners. If you're interested in Hershey, contact NTCR and they will put you in touch with him.
