About George

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Rescue ID: KOL-George-060413
  • General Color: Cream (Mostly)
  • Declawed: Yes

George MUST be adopted with Gracie! They are very dependent on one another and once you read their story, you'll understand why. Gracie and George were dumped in a TINY carrier at Petsmart, which is where we found them. They were terrified (understandably) and severely matted. They are declawed on all 4 paws. We assumed their owner could no longer care for them. Little did we know how little their owners actually cared for these two babies! We took them to the vet for vaccinations and for grooming. Their mats were so bad and so close/tight to their skin that they had to be shaved. The vet and groomer were horrified at how bad the mats were. But thatÂ’s not the worst - once shaved, we discovered that Gracie was not spayed and George was not neutered. What this tells us is that they were cats used for breeding at a kitty mill, and once their "usefulness" ended, they were dumped. This explains a lot about their personalities. Gracie is more outgoing and friendly...which since people came in to see her kittens, makes sense. George is not as outgoing, but he is coming around. George was likely picked on by the other cats at the cat mill because he has bite scars on his hips which are slightly visible in one of the photos. They will require a LOT of love and attention and will do best in a quiet home. The adoption fee for the PAIR is $400.

Please contact NTCR AT 214.454.9395 should you have any concerns or questions.

Please note: We appreciate all interest in our cats and kittens, but we are an all volunteer organization. Please be patient with regard to a call back. Should you need to surrender the cat you adopted from NTCR, please email us at surrenderNTCRcat@northtexascatrescue.com.
