Bunny was rescued from Longview animal shelter. She had two broken legs, puncture wounds, was septic and literally smelled like death. She was immediately taken to the vet who amputated one of her legs and half of her tail. She stayed in the hospital for a couple of weeks being treated for her infection.  After becoming well enough to go into her foster home, NTCR consulted with an orthopedic surgeon in Dallas, who was able to repair her other broken leg. We suspect she had lived with her injuries at least a couple of weeks before she was rescued, therefore her leg had already begun to heal, but poorly.  Thanks to two amazing vets and their teams, she is now a happy healthy kitty. She has half of a tail and only three legs, and one of those is not completely weight-bearing and somewhat shorter than the other. However, she can run play and climb like any other kitty. She likes to sleep next to you or in your lap and is very lovable. Despite her size and missing body parts, she is definitely a diva. She gets along with other cats, but she lets them know that she’s the queen. Bunny must have an adopter qualified to meet her needs. In addition to the adoption application, we are asking that interested adopters submit a short essay to adoption@northtexascatrescue.com telling us why you think your household would be an amazing fit for a cat like Bunny. We are also asking for a $250 adoption fee (in lieu of our usual $150 fees) to help offset Bunny's significant vet bills.
