Attention NTCR Community
We are temporarily closing intake for NON-NTCR cats. Our resources and space are limited. If your cat is not from NTCR, you can contact the shelter or rescue where you adopted them or explore other rehoming options.

For Those Surrendering NTCR Cats
Please do not abandon them or take to other shelters.
If you adopted your cat from NTCR and need to surrender them, please schedule an appointment with us (See link under the Adoption column). We may have a waiting list for openings in our foster homes, so your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for understanding and supporting our mission!

Galileo came to NTCR just in time for the solar eclipse so we consider him a lucky boy.  He and his siblings were dumped in the Amarillo shelter and two found homes but the shelter is too small to support adoptions of whole litters so they hitched a ride to DFW to check out the homes here.  Galileo is an in your face, nose to nose boy who loves to be the center of attention - he'll let you carry him around all the time then settle on your shoulder when you sit.  Beware dangling earrings around him - they are a fascination.  He and his brother Hubble like to wrestle and chase fuzzy critters and play with string toys and balls.  He does need a playmate of some sort or he'll get bored while everyone is at work/school.  Galileo has settled in to the foster home really quickly, making friends and ignoring the older cat who likes to his at him and occasionally swat so I'm sure he'll adjust to any type of home as long as it involves lots of attention.

He uses the litter box and scratchers well.

Are you his/their forever home?
