Attention NTCR Community
We are temporarily closing intake for NON-NTCR cats. Our resources and space are limited. If your cat is not from NTCR, you can contact the shelter or rescue where you adopted them or explore other rehoming options.

For Those Surrendering NTCR Cats
Please do not abandon them or take to other shelters.
If you adopted your cat from NTCR and need to surrender them, please schedule an appointment with us (See link under the Adoption column). We may have a waiting list for openings in our foster homes, so your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for understanding and supporting our mission!

About Iris

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Rescue ID: KFO-IRIS-121721
  • Microchipped: Yes

Iris came to the animal shelter as a sick kitten. She had to have both her eyes removed due to infection. Despite being totally blind she has managed to learn where everything is in her foster home. She knows where the food bowl and litter box are. She climbs/jumps on couches/beds/ottomans but has to learn the distance down. She learned how to go up and down the stairs of a two story house on her own. The person who adopts Iris will need to be patient as she learns where furniture and things are in her new home. Iris is disabled but is also a typical kitten. She is outgoing and loves playing with toys that make noise. She loves playing with her foster siblings and would do best in a home with another kitten. For more information on Iris contact NTCR and you will be put in touch with her foster.

Please contact NTCR AT 214.454.9395 should you have any concerns or questions.

Please note: We appreciate all interest in our cats and kittens, but we are an all volunteer organization. Please be patient with regard to a call back. Should you need to surrender the cat you adopted from NTCR, please email us at surrenderNTCRcat@northtexascatrescue.com.
