Edgar is a Black Smoke Persian who traveled all the way from Qatar to the US. He’s a fabulous, XL boy who happens to be a bit of a diva too. Really though, what can you expect from such a gorgeous kitty? While he may look angry, he isn’t. He’s very affectionate and a total momma’s boy. He loves to be kissed and cuddled. He’s very playful and kitten-like too – seeking out all kinds of toys to entertain himself with. He will love bite so if you’re not a fan of those, Edgar isn’t a match for you.  Because of this and based on his personality, he's not going to be a match for homes with young children. He will be happiest as either as an only cat or with one other cat who is submissive as he is definitely an alpha cat. Edgar requires regular brushing to keep his coat beautiful and tangle free. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered and flea-free. He also has excellent litter box and scratching post manners.

Edgar is FIV positive. If you're not familiar with FIV, it stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. It is a virus that is not transmittable to other species and only spread from cat-to-cat via blood - so deep bite wounds. It is not uncommon for an unneutered male cat living outside to contract FIV. FIV does not negatively affect a cat's life or lifespan nor does it impact their quality of life. FIV+ cats may have above average dental disease, i.e. need dentals sooner or more often. But, that’s not always true with every FIV+ cat. It's really important FIV+ cats are taken for yearly check-ups at the vet and their teeth are checked.
