Meet Jackson!! When people describe their "perfect cat," it's Jackson. He's one of the best cats I've ever fostered (and I've been doing this for 20+ years now.) He is a handsome, gentle, cuddly, playful, lovable and loving boy looking for his forever home. His charming personality has won many people over! Jackson is still waiting for his forever home because he's Feline Leukemia (FeLv) positive, and lots of people get scared about that terminology. What is FeLv? Feline leukemia is a disease that only affects cats and is transmitted typically through saliva, nasal secretions and sometimes shared litter boxes and/or shared food/water bowls. It CANNOT be transmitted to people, dogs or other animals. There are no medications to give Jackson for FeLv. FeLv cats can have shorter lifespans (this is usually where the potential adopter loses interest). FeLv cats may not survive 15-20 years, but there's no way of knowing how long his lifespan will be. With a clean, loving home, good food, and regular veterinary check-ups, he could live many more happy, healthy years. Jackson needs a forever home where he will either be the only cat or have another FeLv positive cat for his buddy. If you would like to be Jackson’s forever home, please contact NTCR and they will put you in touch with me (his foster mom.)
